Designs of bridles have come on significantly in recent years, moving away from traditional designs and towards more modern, anatomical headpieces, cheekpieces and nosebands, to relieve pressure on sensitive facial anatomy and help the horse to work more comfortably. LeMieux have participated in this innovation with their ever-expanding range of bridles including anatomical horse bridles, including their take on the most commonly chosen nosebands, anatomical and more traditional headpieces, and trigger clip as well as billet cheekpieces. Choosing which bridle is likely to help your horse give you their best can be difficult with so much choice available, and you may find our Noseband Guide helpful.

How do I care for my LeMieux bridle?

LeMieux bridles are made of leather and so need to be cared for like the rest of your leather tack. Leather needs to be wiped down with a damp sponge or cloth to remove any excess grease or dirt - a leather cleaner can be used to make this easier with especially dirty tack - and conditioned with a leather conditioner. Leather needs to be cleaned and conditioned regularly, preferably after every ride or weekly, to stay in good condition, and LeMieux leather bridles are no exception. It is advised to keep your bridle in a cool, dry place, and apply leather protector before a prolonged period of storage.

Do LeMieux bridles come with reins?

LeMieux reins that match their selection of bridles are available to purchase separately, with variations to suit every rider's preference.

Can I remove the flash from a LeMieux flash bridle?

Currently, LeMieux's flash bridles do not have a detachable flash loop; you can remove the flash strap easily by threading it out of the loop, but the loop will remain attached to the noseband. A good saddler will be able to remove this loop for you if you are sure you want to use a cavesson noseband in the long run, but many riders will use their bridle with this little loop showing, as it has no effect on the bridle.

What size LeMieux bridle should I get?

You will find a size guide with measurements of each piece of each bridle on the product page for the bridle in which you are interested. LeMieux bridles run true to size.

Are LeMieux bridles allowed in dressage?

Most of LeMieux's current bridle designs are permitted for use in dressage competitions run to British Dressage rules, with the exception of the Work Bridle, owing to its clip on the cheekpieces and throatlash.
