Why did you choose the Velociti Bridle?
I was after a smart grackle bridle that ideally didn’t feel like it used cheap leather but also didn’t cost a fortune.
What are the best features of the Velociti Grackle Bridle?
I was extremely surprised at the quality of the leather for the price of this Shires Velociti Grackle Bridle. I had been looking at bridles for a few months, I didn’t have the funds to look at extremely expensive brands but equally I was massively put off by cheap/ fake leather.
The Velociti range seemed to be made out of lovely soft leather and even a year down the line of using this bridle every day on multiple horses it scrubs up as good as new and the leather has never shown any signs of cracking/ damage.
The raised leather profile gives the bridle a very classy appearance, is super smart for competition and it is still designed with maximum comfort in mind all for under £70:
- Ergonomic padded cut away headpiece
- No metal rings on the grackle noseband meaning it sits comfortably over the horse’s cheek bones
- Leather tabs under the stainless steel buckles so the buckles never sit directly on the face
- Beautifully soft pimple ‘Velociti’ stamped rubber reins
Are there any negatives to this Shires Velociti Bridle?
I found with my horses/ponies ranging from 14hh-15hh I had to buy shorter cheekpieces separately (ie- Cob sized bridle then pony cheeks) especially when I wanted to use a gag type bit on the bridle. But at only £7.55 for the cheeks it is very little to complain about!
Would you recommend this bridle to a friend?
110% yes! If you are after any sort of smart bridle but can’t afford to spend a fortune then the Velociti Range is definitely for you!
