Whether in the saddle or out of it, Ariat produce a wide range of footwear to suit your needs. Comfort and practical performance are high on the list of Ariat's design priorities.
Sustainably Sourced Leathers
The leather used in the English Ariat category is responsibly sourced and produced in tanneries that have been certified as following practices in the industry. 98% of leather in English assortment hit these metrics.
In order to achieve certification, they have been audited according to guidelines that assess their environmental performance.
Focus area: Reduced water, chemical and energy consumption in production processes. Social compliant-works rights. Socially compliant-workers rights. Traceable leathers to country of origin-promoting and supporting animal welfare standards.
General Footwear Technology
Duratread™
Duratread is a rubber compound specially developed to combine maximum wear resistance with comfort and flexibility to give riders lasting performance and protection.
The rubber compound outlasts traditional rubber and is highly resistant to barnyard acids and oils to help with durability.
Waterproof Pro
When the weather’s not cooperating, you want a boot you can trust to protect you from the elements. Ariat’s Waterproof Pro footwear has been designed with our top-of-the-line Ariat® waterproof construction, utilizing waterproof premium full-grain leathers and an impermeable barrier to deliver durable, long-lasting protection.
H2O is usually in the title of products with waterproofing in the riding and country footwear.
Water Resistant
Water-resistant styles are designed to repel water and allow for maximum breathability.
3M Thinsulate Insulation
For warmth without bulk. 3M™ Thinsulate™ Insulation for footwear is the ideal choice. Pre-compressed to make shoes and boots less bulky while helping them retain heat in the great outdoors or on city streets.
Particularly useful in cold weather and for people with poor circulation.
Thinsulate is found in footwear and winter gloves by Ariat.
Steel Toe
These tough boots feature a steel cap to protect toes against falling and heavy rolling objects. Safety toe to EN ISO 20345 SB (ASTM F2413-11 M/I/75 C/75 EH) level requirements for safety footwear
Safety Toe EN ISO 20345 Safety Basic - the standard specifies that the toe protection must have an impact-resistance of 200 joules (equivalent to 20Kg weight dropped 1,020mm onto the toes and a 15KN compression test (equivalent to 1.5 tonnes resting on the toe area).
Composite Toe
Composite toe styles are EN ISO 20345 SB (ASTM F2413) rated for safety. They are lighter weight than traditional steel toes with less temperature conductivity so your feet stay warmer in colder weather. Non-metallic for electronic security working conditions.
Found in the Ariat work boots.
FLX Foam
FLX Foam™ midsole provides lightweight cushioning and long-lasting rebound. Designed with an EVA and Rubber blend to decelerate compression.
Found in the Ascent Footwear Range.
Shock Shield
Ariat’s revolutionary Shock Shield® technology provides shock absorption for all-day comfort. An added layer of shock-reducing material in the heel diffuses the impact that occurs during heel strike, absorbs repeated ground impacts and minimizes fatigue felt by the body.
Found in the Nitro footbed.
S3
S3 safety footwear provides maximum protection conforming to EN ISO 20345 Safety Standards and includes toe protection, sole penetration resistance, slip-resistance, anti-static properties and durability.
SB - Safety Basic
SB safety footwear provides general protection conforming to EN ISO 20435:2011 Safety Standards and includes toe protection, slip resistance and durability.
Toe Protection with an impact resistance of 200 joules(equivalent to 20Kg weight dropped 1,020mm onto the toes and 15KN compression test (equivalent to 1.5 tonnes resting on the toe area).
SRA - Slip Resistance
Whole boot slip resistance conforming to EN ISO 20345 Safety Standard, tested on ceramic tile floors with Sodium lauryl sulphate solution.
SRB - Slip Resistance
EN ISO 20345 Slip Resistance SRB the boots are tested on steel with glycerol.
SRC - Slip Resistance tested to SRA & SRB
The highest level of slip resistance conforming to EN ISO 202345 Safety Standards, texted on a ceramic tile floor with SLS (Sodium lauryl sulphate - diluted soap solution) and on a steel floor with glycerol.
VentTek
Innovative Ariat VentTEK™ technology enhances performance footwear with integrated mesh panels to enable air flow. Say hello to cool, comfortable, performance gear.
Wiggle Room
Designed with a removable inner, Ariat Wiggle Room™ insert standard in all Ariat kids’ boots, a child can keep their favourite boots even longer. As your kid’s feet grow, remove the insert from beneath the insole for extra “wiggle room.”
Found in most of the children's riding boot range.
X-STATIC
Made with 99.9% pure silver, X-STATIC enhances products with permanent anti-odour performance. It Naturally inhibits the growth of bacterial odours on apparel and textile products, keeping your gear smelling fresh. X-Static also has natural temperature-regulating properties to keep you performing at your best.
Found in the Nitro Range.

Eco-products contain 50% or more material by weight that are sustainably sourced to help protect our planet and four-legged friends.
Bloom
BLOOM™ is the world’s first plant-based performance-driven foam formulated with algae biomass. Algae is a renewable biomass feedstock that cleans the environment and reduces the risk of algal blooms while reducing our dependence on fossil fuel protection.
Vibram

HDry
HDry® technology incorporates a waterproof and breathable membrane that is firmly laminated to the upper inner side, making it absolutely waterproof with no seams and no gaps where water can penetrate. The ultra-thin waterproof membrane and the unique lamination method provide a precise fit and keep your shoes dry and light all day.

THE AXIS PRO FOOTBED
Axis Pro deliver dynamic full-foot support and responsive pressure relief to extend comfort and minimize repetitive stress in the stirrups and on the ground.
The Nitro Footbed
Nitro is the most premium of the Ariat footbed technology on the market found in The Nitro Range of long and short boots. Designed to performance and comfort whether competing or training.
The ATS Footbed
The mid-level technology is found in the majority of Ariat country boots and riding boots. Designed for comfort and performance.
The 4LR Footbed
This entry-level technology is found in kids' boots and beginners' adults' boots.
Insoles
Ariat now offers a comprehensive line of performance insoles that can be bought separately and put into your current boots as well as coming with current styles. Designed with advanced technical materials and engineering to maximize foot comfort and support, there is an insole for every need, purpose and type of foot.
Outsole
Ariat have developed a number of riding soles over the years and continues to research the best ways to offer the grip needed on the ground and in the saddle.
The Duratread Outsole is found on most Ariat riding boots and offers a durable option suitable for most riders.
The Ascent Outsole is found on boots in the Ascent range and offers a different tread pattern with traction zones.
The Nitro Outsole is found on the Nitro range and offers a different tread pattern to the standard Duratread Outsole with a special construction to be lighter weight.

AriatTEK Cold Series
Cold Series appeal keeps the body core warm when the temperatures are cool.
Prevalent in Ariat's Cool Weather Clothing and especially in their Autumn Winter (seasonal) Clothing collections AriatTEK Cold Series technology is a combination of fabric and targeted areas of insulation to offer warmth and comfort without making their clothing bulky.
AriatTEK Heat Series
Heat Series apparel keeps the body cool when the weather and competition heats up.
Prevalent in Ariat's Competition Clothing, Summer Core Clothing and especially in their Spring Summer (seasonal) Clothing collections AriatTEK Heat Series technology is a combination of fabric that promotes wicking moisture from the skin and quick drying for comfort as well as a series of technologies that promote active cooling.
Breathable Waterproof
Breathable waterproof garments are windproof, waterproof and seam-sealed. Surface fabric repels wind and water but allows body vapour to escape.
Commonly used in Ariat's Core and Seasonal coats and jackets to offer performance in challenging weather.
Calf Fit System
Ariat's patented Calf Fit System is found in Ariat's breeches and riding tights.
An unique stretch construction which provides custom support at the calf and ankle and alleviates pressure points and friction under long boots and gaiters for comfort.
Compression
Compression fabric provides a sleek, flattering fit and retains its shape.
Ariat selects and creates fabrics for its clothing to offer performance whether in the saddle or on the ground. Taking inspiration from shaping garments and gym garments Ariat have integrated fabric technologies to bring compression technology into its range of clothing.
Phone Pocket
Ariat integrates phone pockets into their garments that fit most smartphones including some styles of riding tights.
Cool Climate Insulation
Ariat have specially constructed garments with Cool Climate insulation to provide optimal lightweight comfort and warmth, especially in their outerwear.
Core Control Technology (CCT)
Ariat's tummy-trimming Core Control Technology is made with targeted support for core muscles to comfortably smooth the midsection. The result is a classic breech with a slimmer, sleeker profile to help you feel more confident and supported.
ClimateTEK
ClimateTEK is a dynamic, rapid cooling technology that automatically reacts to changes in your body temperature, keeping you cool when things heat up and comfortable when you're at rest.
Found in Ariat competition ranges and warm weather collections.
EcoDRY
Earth-friendly waterproofing. EcoDRY technology offers protection against the elements without harmful, environmentally damaging chemicals.
FreshTEK
Odour-resistant finish that inhibits the growth of bacterial odours to keep you smelling fresh.
FreshTek is a newer technology which is being expanded into more and more garments.
H2LO
50% less water was used during the production of these jeans bearing this symbol.
Machine Washable
The vast majority of Ariat's clothing is machine washable at a low temperature, most garments are recommended to be washed at 30°C for convenience and to help you save energy.
Moisture Movement Technology
Moisture Movement Technology sometimes written as MMT denotes clothing that has fabric that pulls moisture away from the skin and to the outside of the garment so it can evaporate quickly, helping to keep you dry and comfortable.
Moisture Movement Technology is found in the majority of Ariat's riding clothing and is often used with or as part of other technologies such as the Cold and Heat Series as it is seen by Ariat as a key to keeping riders comfortable in and out of the saddle.
Reflective
Some of Ariat's riding garments have reflective elements to help increase visibility and safety in low light conditions.
Silicone Grip
Ariat have a number of Silicone grip patterns that have been developed for optimal grip in the saddle. Delivers stretch, breathability and flexibility on their breeches and riding tights.
Softshell
Softshell employs a stretch nylon shell for both wind and water resistance. A stretch microfleece backing delivers superior heat retention while remaining breathable.
Stain Repellent
Stain repellent finish provides protection against stains, dirt and other marks. This added feature is ideal for keeping outerwear looking new and unblemished.
Sun Protection Fabric
UPF is Ultraviolet Protection Factor, the standard used to measure the effectiveness of sun-protective fabrics.
SPF is Sun Protection Factor, the standard used to measure the effectiveness of sunscreens.
UPF-rated fabric provides UV (Ultra Violet) protection. Ariat have a number of fabrics that have UPF ratings 30 to 50, with the majority of their base layers with UPF of 50.
UPF of 50 offers excellent UV protection - 1/50th of the sun's UV rays reach the skin. The skin under the garment is 98% covered from harmful UVA and UVB radiation.
As an American company, Ariat has invested in the development of protective fabric.
V3 Fit
Ariat V3 technology keeps breeches close-fitting and comfortable. An elastic "V" panel is built into the back waistband offers superior stretch and recovery to accommodate a rider's varying hip angles.
Found in the Tri-Factor breeches for women and men.
VentTEK
Ariat's VenTek technology features body mapping to enable air flow and regulate body temperature.
Wind and Water Resistant
Wind and water-resistant garments employ a thin technological coating on lightweight surface fabric to block wind and protect from light rain.
Recycled Materials
Garments are made with at least 50% recycled materials.
Ariat are producing more clothing using recycled materials with an aim to keep increasing the use of recycled materials throughout their range.

Polartec Wind Pro
Wind-resistant yet air permeable Polartec Wind Pro fleece has tight knit construction to substantially reduce wind chill.
Bluesign
The independent bluesign standard is the response to increasing demand for textile products that are environmentally friendly pose no health hazards, and conserve resources to the greatest possible extent.
The bluesign is built around five principles: resource productivity, consumer safety, air emission, water emission and occupational health and safety.
