The ProVent 3.0 and Motion 3 is the most popular option for eventing and general riding - lightweight, flexible and breathable and features an elasticated adjustment which helps make it our most comfortable model to date.
For those wanting a full-colour range and smart satin outer, there is the RS2010 model. Featuring a similar flexible segmented design as the ProVent.

The ProRace series is specially designed for the weight restrictions of jockeys and is available in a separate racing focussed size range, with a choice of regular or race tail-back lengths, that we do not stock as standard.

BETA Safety Standard Label

BETA Level 3 2018 (black and blue label) has replaced the BETA Level 3 2009 (white and purple label) (and BETA 2000 standard) as the latest standard for body protectors. It is the standard that you will be looking for to ensure that you adhere to the rules for body protectors within the UK for the coming years, except for Jockey's (who use BETA 2018 Level 1 and BETA 2018 Level 2) who have other standards that limit protection due to weight restrictions.

BETA 2000 is no longer acceptable for competition or where a stipulation of the level of protection worn has been put in place (such as most schooling venues), BETA 2009 will no longer be acceptable for use in British Eventing, British Riding Club or The Pony Club from January 2024.

The BETA (British Equestrian Trade Association) Body Protector Standard ensures that garments from the manufacturer are annually re-tested for consistency of quality of materials used and manufacturing processes.

On the main label inside the garment, you will see EN 13158. This is the European safety standard.

How to measure for a ProVent 3.0, Motion 3 and RS2010

The starting size, based on your chest measurement.

• Over light clothing, place a tape measure close up under the arms & measure the fullest part of the chest.

• The correct size should be a snug fit within the adjustment available from the side, without being too tight or restrictive.

The correct fit option, based on your body length.

• From your natural tipping point at the front (approx 1" below the ribs), up over the shoulder & down to the level point on the back.

• The correct fit should ensure the foam segments at the front are long enough to cover the bottom ribs, whilst not being too long to restrict movement.

The correct back option, based on your back length.

• Take a back measurement from the C7 vertebrae (prominent one at the base of your neck) down to where the body protector should finish.

• Sat in the saddle, measure down to approx 3/4 finger width clearance above the seat.

•The correct fit should provide both lower back protection & a full range of movement, without the saddle interfering.

The MotionLite offers lightweight back protection with unlimited movement. Designed for a discreet fit under a show jacket, it features slimline protection in a technical gilet design. Suited for limited protection when a body protector is not being worn.

How to measure your back length for a MoitionLite

To ensure the correct length option is chosen, measure your back length whilst sitting in the saddle- from the vertebrae directly below the C7 (prominent vertebrae at the base of your neck) down to where the back protector will finish. We recommend at least a hands-width clearance to the seat of the saddle to ensure enough clearance for a full range of movement.

The MotionAir is a low-profile air jacket designed to attach to the Motion3 body protector to offer hybrid protection. Designed in partnership with Helite, experts in airbag technology.

Can the MotionAir be worn alone?

Racesafe recommends the MotionAir is always worn with the Motion3 body protector.

Racesafe cannot guarantee the speed of inflation when worn without the Motion3, and for the air jacket to not move, twist or turn on triggering, altering the area of protection.

How to attach the MotionAir to my Motion3 body protector?

There are three anchor points used to attach the MotionAir to the Motion3, an anchor key behind the trigger and on both shoulders. It's important to connect them properly, so watch the Racesafe - How to attach the MotionAir Air Jacket to the Motion3 Body Protector YouTube video for further guidance.

Can I take Motion3 and MotionAir on and off as one?

Once the MotionAir is attached to the Motion3 body protector using three anchor points they can be taken on and off as one.

What Canisters does the MotionAir use?

Helite canisters with a screw top only.

MotionAir YR1 uses the 50cc canister. YR2, A1 & A2 use the 60cc canister size.

For safety reasons, we ask you to check your airbag on an annual basis: Unscrew and weigh your CO2 canister on a scale. Please make sure it is approximately +/- 3g for 50CC and 60CC canisters to the weight written on your canister.

The canister should be stored and used in temperatures below 45°C. Do not expose the full canisters for a long time to high temperatures (in direct sunlight, near a radiator, etc.).

The canister must be used at a temperature over 0°C. If stored under 0°C, warm up before use or replace it with a canister stored at room temperature.

Is there a minimum weight to wear a MotionAir?

Rider must weigh more than 35Kg to wear the MotionAir.

What certification does MotionAir have?

NF S72-800:2022 equestrian is the first and only standard developed for equestrian airbags.

Washing Instructions

If you MotionAir gets dirty, clean with a soft cloth slightly soaked in soap. Do not use bleach or detergents and do not machine wash.

Hang in a dry place away from a radiator or heat source.
