How to measure for a riding hat
Use a soft tape to measure the widest part of your head over your hair about 3/4" above your eyebrows, just above the ear line and around the bump at the back of your head.
Take this measurement in centimetres and repeat a couple of times to get a more accurate sizing.
Please be aware that although Riding Hats and Jockey Skull Caps are sized the same way there is a difference in fit/shape of the hats between brands and styles by those brands.
We recommended that Skull Caps and Riding Hats are fitted by a professional.
Samshield uses 4 shells and a liner system to create their range of sizes for their hats.
If between shell sizes it is usually a case of trying both and seeing which is the most comfortable fit.

Designed to meet the demands of riders and offer optimum fit, comfort and optimized airflow the Samshield Miss Shield Shadowmatt Dark Line 2.0 Riding Hat is made in premium material including polycarbonate which is used for elite motorcycle helmets with anti-scratch paint and an inner shell that is polystyrene with variable density to provide better dissipation of the energy produced on impact. The longer visor is ideal for helping to keep the sun out of your eyes. Using 4 years of research and development to refine the Miss Shield Shadowmatt Samshiled has a reshaped rounder shell, a stronger clip system for the liners and an updated edging design to offer additional airflow.
The internal lining system uses a comfort foam that holds its shape ensuring a constant thickness over years of use and a semi-rigid jugular to cancel the risks of the helmet tipping in a violent movement such as in a fall. The liner is removable and washable, with a strong clip fastening that also allows you to change the size of the hat within the shell size.

Delivery & Returns
We endeavour to post out your goods the same day they are ordered; however, in busy periods this can take a little longer.
UK Orders
- Standard UK delivery is £3.95 or free over £75* excluding non-Mainland, Highlands & Northern Ireland
- UK Mainland orders over £75 receive free delivery*
- UK Mainland Royal Mail Express is £5.95 an expedited tracked service.
- UK Mainland DPD Express Delivery is £5.95. If ordered on a Friday the next working day is Monday, in times of high parcel numbers DPD may deliver this on Saturday. There will be a text and/or email notification sent to let you know when DPD intend to deliver.
- UK Saturday Delivery - is £11.50 - Order before Friday 3pm.
- UK Sunday Delivery - is £11.50 - Order before Friday 3pm. We do not have a weekend collection so orders placed on Saturday for Sunday will be for the following Sunday.
- UK Non-Mainland Delivery is £3.95 under £50, or £8.50 on orders over £50 this is due to higher cost of shipping
- Smaller items are posted with Royal Mail and usually take 1-4 days from the point of order to arrive during normal levels of activity.
- *Some products must be shipped via DPD courier due to delivery restrictions, these are marked on our website as Courier or Free Click & Collect eg long items over 62cm, heavy items over 5kg and air canisters.
- Large, heavy or multiple items are delivered by DPD (signature required)
- A DPD Next Day Delivery service is available to the majority of mainland UK at a cost of £5.95 Monday to Thursday. Orders must be placed before 3pm (Monday - Thursday) to qualify. Orders placed after 3pm on DPD Next Day will be dispatched the following day. Orders placed after Friday 3pm and over the weekend will be dispatched on Monday. We do not get collections from DPD or Royal Mail on Bank Holidays. Our courier does not deliver on Bank Holidays.
- Saturday and Sunday named day delivery is £11.50 and available to most UK Mainland postcodes (excludes Highlands and Islands). Orders must be placed before 3pm on Friday, please note our courier does not collect from us at the weekend so orders must also be placed by 3pm on Friday.
- Postcodes ineligible for Next Day/Saturday Delivery – All Northern Ireland and Channel Islands, AB31-56, EI, F17-21, G83, GY9, HS1-9, IM, IV, KA27-28, KW0-17, PA20-78, PH15-99, TR21-25, ZE.
International Orders
- Standard Europe delivery is £9.50.
- Standard Worldwide delivery is £25.00 - please note there may be additional charges depending on the size and weight of your parcel and the location of delivery.
- Standard delivery prices for overseas orders are estimates only and in exceptional circumstances, we may not be able to fulfil your order for the quoted price, if this is the case you will be contacted by email
