We always recommend being fitted in-store by one of our trained members of staff for safety equipment such as riding hats. Using a soft fabric measuring tape, wrap around the widest part of your head (over your hair). It should follow a line about 3/4" above your eyebrows, just above your ear line and around the bump at the back of your head. Repeat a couple of times to check accuracy. Please be aware that the measurement of your head does not account of your head shape. Different brands of hat suit different shapes of the head.

Details
The Charles Owen Esme MS1 Pro Skull combines triple standard protection with a lightweight strengthened ABS outer shell with ten ventilation slots. Made with a removable washable replaceable headband to add comfort and functionality to this jockey skull. Featuring a stylish leather-look harness.
Independent testing rates the MS1 Pro to be 37% safer than other helmets on the market (Folksam 2021).
MIPS is a technology which allows a helmet to slide relative to the head, it was developed by the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden and has been used in cycling helmets for many years.
Unlike a traditional riding hat, the MS1 Pro Skull has a low friction layer inside which allows the outer hat to slide 10-15mm in all directions. This layer mimics the scalp to reduce the tangential forces transmitted to the brain during impact by redirecting the energies and forces which otherwise transfer to the brain which can cause severe injury.
Charles Owen has added MIPS to 'top-up' protection rather than replace coverage already held by the helmet safety standards.

Delivery & Returns
We endeavour to post out your goods the same day they are ordered; however, in busy periods this can take a little longer.
UK Orders
- Standard UK delivery is £3.95 or free over £75* excluding non-Mainland, Highlands & Northern Ireland
- UK Mainland orders over £75 receive free delivery*
- UK Mainland Royal Mail Express is £5.95 an expedited tracked service.
- UK Mainland DPD Express Delivery is £5.95. If ordered on a Friday the next working day is Monday, in times of high parcel numbers DPD may deliver this on Saturday. There will be a text and/or email notification sent to let you know when DPD intend to deliver.
- UK Saturday Delivery - is £11.50 - Order before Friday 3pm.
- UK Sunday Delivery - is £11.50 - Order before Friday 3pm. We do not have a weekend collection so orders placed on Saturday for Sunday will be for the following Sunday.
- UK Non-Mainland Delivery is £3.95 under £50, or £8.50 on orders over £50 this is due to higher cost of shipping
- Smaller items are posted with Royal Mail and usually take 1-4 days from the point of order to arrive during normal levels of activity.
- *Some products must be shipped via DPD courier due to delivery restrictions, these are marked on our website as Courier or Free Click & Collect eg long items over 62cm, heavy items over 5kg and air canisters.
- Large, heavy or multiple items are delivered by DPD (signature required)
- A DPD Next Day Delivery service is available to the majority of mainland UK at a cost of £5.95 Monday to Thursday. Orders must be placed before 3pm (Monday - Thursday) to qualify. Orders placed after 3pm on DPD Next Day will be dispatched the following day. Orders placed after Friday 3pm and over the weekend will be dispatched on Monday. We do not get collections from DPD or Royal Mail on Bank Holidays. Our courier does not deliver on Bank Holidays.
- Saturday and Sunday named day delivery is £11.50 and available to most UK Mainland postcodes (excludes Highlands and Islands). Orders must be placed before 3pm on Friday, please note our courier does not collect from us at the weekend so orders must also be placed by 3pm on Friday.
- Postcodes ineligible for Next Day/Saturday Delivery – All Northern Ireland and Channel Islands, AB31-56, EI, F17-21, G83, GY9, HS1-9, IM, IV, KA27-28, KW0-17, PA20-78, PH15-99, TR21-25, ZE.
International Orders
- Standard Europe delivery is £9.50.
- Standard Worldwide delivery is £25.00 - please note there may be additional charges depending on the size and weight of your parcel and the location of delivery.
- Standard delivery prices for overseas orders are estimates only and in exceptional circumstances, we may not be able to fulfil your order for the quoted price, if this is the case you will be contacted by email
